Bethany's village core along Highway 7A contains a concentration of 19th-century heritage buildings that the City of Kawartha Lakes has been actively designating under the Ontario Heritage Act. Three properties in particular anchor the hamlet's historic streetscape.

The former Bank of Toronto at 1475 Highway 7A was constructed in 1920 to the design of Peterborough architect W.R.L. Blackwell, one of the preferred architects of the Bank of Toronto during this period. Built in a restrained Edwardian Classical style, it is Bethany's only purpose-built bank building and the only structure in the community executed in this architectural style. It later operated as a TD Bank branch.

The Bethany General Store at 1473 Highway 7A was established in 1859 by Alfred Ryley, who also served as the first Clerk of Manvers Township and held the position for 45 years. The building is a representative example of false-facade commercial architecture, where a large facade covers a plain vernacular structure to the rear. It has operated continuously as a general store since 1859.

The former St. Paul's Anglican Church at 1436 Highway 7A was built in 1876 in the Gothic Revival style. It served as the local Anglican church until 2005 and sits at the western gateway to the hamlet. Its designation recognizes its role in the religious and community life of Bethany and Manvers Township throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.
